1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Kiword. Kiword is a local-first AI writing assistant provided by Kiword ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our application, you ("the Buyer" or "the Parent") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are purchasing this for a minor, you represent that you are their legal guardian and give consent for their use of the service.

2. Eligibility and Parental Consent

Kiword is designed for children aged 6–12. A Parent or legal guardian must create the account. By creating an account, you:

  • Confirm you are at least 18 years old.
  • Expressly consent to your child using Kiword's voice-to-text and AI coaching features.
  • Assume full responsibility for all activities that occur under your family or individual account.

3. Services & Subscriptions

  • Subscription Models: We offer Solo, Family, and Max annual plans.
  • Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely via Creem. We do not store your credit card information.
  • Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew annually unless cancelled via your account settings at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • Trial Period: We provide a 14-day Pro trial. No charges will be made if cancelled during the trial.

4. Refund Policy

We want you to be fully satisfied with Kiword. We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all our subscription plans. If you are not satisfied with our service, you can request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase by contacting us at [email protected].

5. AI Coaching & Content

  • Ownership: You (or your child) own all text and "Output" generated by the AI based on your "Input." Kiword does not claim ownership of your child's creative work.
  • Local Processing: AI processing is performed locally on your device to ensure maximum privacy.
  • Nature of AI: You acknowledge that AI is a tool for brainstorming and coaching. While we filter content for safety, AI may occasionally produce inaccurate information. Kiword is not responsible for the factual accuracy of AI-generated content.
  • Acceptable Use & Content Safety: You agree not to use Kiword to generate infringing, illegal, or NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content. Our AI models include built-in filters that will refuse to generate such content. Any attempt to bypass these safety filters may result in account termination.

6. Intellectual Property

The Kiword software, branding, and proprietary algorithms are the intellectual property of Kiword. You are granted a limited, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, educational purposes.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kiword shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the last 12 months.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.
